The Chairman’s message

The “Friends of the Holy Family Hospital Association” has been supporting the hospital for almost 20 years, helping it to fulfill its vision to become a leading medical center in Nazareth and its surroundings, providing professional and respectful medical treatment to anyone who needs it, regardless of race, religion or gender.

The association sees great importance in investing in research, especially at a hospital affiliated with the Bar-Ilan University Faculty of Medicine, located in the Galilee.

I am happy and proud to continue the work of my predecessors, Mr. Ibrahim Khuri and the late Mr. Yosef Saruji, and would like to thank my colleagues, past and present members of the association, for their willingness to volunteer and take part in this important mission.

In 2020, despite the challenges we faced due to COVID-19, we were able to raise an amount of approximately 800,000 NIS, used for various purposes:

  • Purchase of 6 advanced monitoring devices for the neonatal and preterm intensive care unit, in addition to devices previously purchased in 2019.
  • Purchase of a new state-of-the-art medical device for urgent intubation in the Emergency Room.
  • Purchase of kits required for the research conducted by the delivery rooms’ manager, Dr. Abir Suleiman Awawda.
  • Sponsoring of an outing day for the Oncology staff.
  • Granting gratitude gifts to the midwives and nurses for International Day of the Midwife and International Nurses Day.

In addition to all of these, the association also supports the activities of “Think Positive” – a group of Arab and Jewish women recovering from breast cancer, which sees positive thinking as a crucial value in the healing process. Unfortunately, in 2020, due to COVID-19, the group was unable to hold meetings, but we hope to be able to meet again soon.

We are very proud of our achievements over the years, and will continue to do everything we can for the benefit of the hospital, its staff and patients.

Sincerely,

Jeries Boulos – Chairman of the Association
